Well often owners pick up their small dogs and carry them around or often grab them quickly if a large dog approaches in fear that they will jump all over their little dog and might hurt them. However in fact this just makes the little dog feel he / she is more powerful over the larger dogs which ultimately frequently results in them become snappy and jealous if anyone approaches the owner. However it is easy enough for any small dog owner to do as small dogs are often so light to hold and easier to cuddle up to on their lap. Therefore is it any wonder that they get away with so much more which evidently leads them to believe they are the ones in control.
In order to change this, small dog owners just need to make it clear they are the pack leaders and take control of the situation. By doing this, these small dogs can feel more secure to know someone else is in charge and should result in more positive behavior from our little furry friends along with less aggressive behavior from them.
